Mary is an Esthetician, Reflexologist and Reiki Therapist who specializes in Holistic European facials. Mary is at Inis Spa full time and looks forward to sharing her insight and knowledge she has gathered in several countries including Ireland, France, China and here in America.
Jean Flanagan, LMBT is an Eastern NC native who always had a passion for helping others. Family members always encouraged Jean telling her she had a gift for massage. Jean attended Coastal Carolina Community College in 2010. After graduating in 2011 she became licensed. Jean has a passion for massage and it's many benefits and that joy was rekindled in May of 2015 when she joined our team here at Inis Spa. Jean works with each client to create a massage specific to their individual needs.
Andrea Case, LMBT joined the Inis staff in 2009 after devoting time to raising her three daughters. Her desire to nurture and help others led her to a career in massage therapy. In 2009 she graduated with honors from Miller Motte College. In her time at Inis, she has developed a style incorporating aspects of Swedish, deep tissue, therapeutic, acupressure and myofascial work. Andrea is a certified pre-natal practitioner. She is also a practitioner of Sacred Hawaiian Lomi and Table Thai massage. These have become integral parts of her massage style, bringing a deeper reverence to the treatments and the individual. Tying these techniques together with long rocking strokes, passive stretching and adding customized essential oils, the massage is tailored to each client's individual needs, whether relaxing and light or invigorating and deep. Andrea loves exploring new modalities to integrate into her work.
Vanessa Sorrentino Nieves
Vanessa is very passionate about health and wellness and loves working at Inis Spa! She joined the team January of 2016. She has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University and is currently working on her Master's in counseling for marriage and family therapy. As a professionally trained dancer originally from Connecticut, outside of the New York City Metropolitan area, she became a full time dance and conditioning teacher in Virginia Beach post college. She relocated to North Carolina to join her husband who is stationed in Jacksonville and currently serves in the United States Marine Corps.
She has worked in numerous high end and fast paced spas and wellness centers with years of experience and takes a holistic approach to life. As the manager of the spa, she is responsible for all reception related tasks and responsibilities, product training and knowledge, client relations, staff scheduling and training, and the overall flow and daily operations of the business. Any questions regarding services, therapists, scheduling and booking, or the spa in general can be answered by Vanessa. She is here to assist clients with any needs they have or concerns that may arise. Whether it's booking an appointment for yourself, organizing a group event, or purchasing a gift certificate from overseas for your spouse, Vanessa can help make the process easy. Her goal is to keep the energy of the spa as positive and professional as possible. The utmost happiness and satisfaction of customers is what Inis Spa strives to achieve. Samantha Smith Promoting health and wellness is Sam's life! She obtained her esthetician license from the state of Washington in 2011, from the Gaty Manuel Aveda Institute in Seattle. She has traveled far from home to enhance her knowledge of this industry and share her passion of waxing. She specializes in hard wax, but is well versed in both soft and hard wax. Samantha moved to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter.
Tracey Carr, LMBT has been licensed as a massage and bodywork therapist since 2001. Before coming to join the team at Inis Spa in 2016, she had experience in clinical settings, a fitness center, as well as spa settings; all in Southeastern North Carolina. Tracey incorporates a variety of modalities in her massages including Swedish, sports, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, aromatherapy and others in order to customize each massage to the needs of the individual client. Mindful intent is always important in every massage as Tracey strives to provide the very best service in every session. Tracey lives with her husband and daughter in their home in Hampstead.
Mary Roweis the Owner Director of Inis Spa. Mary came from Co. Clare Ireland, where, for 25 years, she worked in the Holistic Spa Business. She was the Spa Director for 15 years at Dromoland Castle Hotel, which is one of the world's leading resorts. Mary came to the United States in 2005 and fell in love with Topsail Island and its people. She believes that the Island possesses immense healing powers. It was time for her to open Inis Spa. "Inis" means Island in the Irish Language.
Jamie Willard, LMBT is originally from Virginia and has one daughter who currently serves in the United States Air Force. She is a recent graduate from Miller Motte Technical College and joined our team in May of 2017. She specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, hot stones, and myofascial techniques to both calm and relax while adding stretching, movement, and kneading to provide therapeutic relief. She understands that every person has unique challenges and preferences, and prides herself in being able to hone into the needs of each individual. Regardless of a client’s needs, she enjoys creating a warm, relaxing environment in which to wind down into deep relaxation mode
Slynda Ameri, LMBT became a massage therapist because she realized how beneficial massage is to a healthy lifestyle. she enjoys helping people gain mobility, reduce stress and tension, or overcome injury to add quality to their lives. She has been in the field since 2004 and uses an array of techniques to help her clients towards feeling their best.
Meet Our Staff
Marian Green, LMBT graduated with a degree in Sociology from UNCW in 1990. After incurring a running related injury, she became fascinated with therapeutic massage,as this was the only thing that helped her recover from her injury. She went back to study Neuromuscular Massage therapy and started practicing as a therapist in 2000. She has trained in various massage techniques and worked in a number of different settings with therapeutic massage as her main focus. After working 8 years in an Orthopaedic Spine clinic, she relocated to Topsail Island and has been working at Inis spa since her move. She enjoys both the medical and spa settings and continues to learn by taking numerous and varied CEU courses
